Aaron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Seoul National University.

Adi Budiarso

Dr. Adi Budiarso is the Head of the Climate Change and Multilateral Policy Center of the Fiscal Policy Agency in the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia.

He was the Human Capital Advisor to the Secretary General of the MOF and has acted as Head of the Finance Profession Regulator Agency and the Deputy of Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance for Human Capital since 7 January 2019 to 8 July 2019.

Dr. Adi was the Chief Organisational Transformation Officer at the Central Transformation Office, Indonesian Ministry of Finance. Dr Adi’s main task was to deliver the Human Capital and Digital Transformation initiatives in line with the aspiration to develop a world class Indonesian Ministry of Finance in the 21th Century.

Adi Harsono is currently the Chairperson of the Chinese Committee of Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). With various degrees in Management, Adi has worked for Schlumberger company for 25 years in various assignments, West Africa, France, Middle East, Australia and Asia. His last assignment was in Shanghai China, managing a JV manufacturing high-tech smart card used in mobile communication and banking.

Since 2007, Adi is working for KS Energy Services, a Singapore public listed company, his duty is to restructure the organization in China and develop new business in new energy including nuclear power and wind energy. His position today is the Asia President of the KS Energy Services Group.

Adi founded the Indonesia Business Association of Shanghai in 2002, it is a non-profit organization to promote Indonesia in China, and to bridge the business contacts between China and Indonesia.

Airlangga Hartarto is the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs in President Joko Widodo’s Onward Indonesia Cabinet who was inaugurated on 23 October 2019. Previously, Airlangga has served as Minister of Industry for the 2016-2019 in the Work Cabinet . In addition to government positions, he is also Chairman of the Golkar Party. In his second term in Golkar Party as a legislator in the 2009-2014, he chaired House Commission VI on industry, trade, investment and state-owned enterprises. During this time, he introduced the 2014 Industry Law. Airlangga Hartarto is also the co-host of Tri Hita Karana Sustainable Development Forum.

Airlangga Hartarto received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Gadjah Mada University in 1987. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and later received a Master's degree in Business Administration from Monash University as well as a Master's degree in Management Technology from the University of Melbourne. In 2019, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in Development Policy by The KDI School of Public Policy and Management.

Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti

Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti is a senior advisor to the Minister of National Development Planning for Economy and Financing at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Republic of Indonesia. She started her career in the Ministry since 1999 at Directorate of Industry, Trade, and Tourism. She was assigned as a Deputy Director for Trade in 2006 and appointed as Director for Trade, Investment and International Economic Cooperation in November 2011 until July 2016. She was then assigned as a Director of Macroeconomic Planning and Statistics Analysis in July 2016 until February 2018, before being promoted to her current position.

She obtained her PhD degree in economics from the University of Melbourne Australia in 2005 with her thesis of Inflation Targeting Framework in Emerging Economies. Her strong interest is in macroeconomic issues, trade and economic development as well as economic modeling and analysis has encouraged her to put her strong intention on economic policy research for Indonesia.

Amir Banifatemi joins XPRIZE with more than 25 years of experience in development and growth of emerging and transformative technologies. At XPRIZE he is the General Manager for Innovation and Growth, and leads the AI initiatives and Executive Director for the IBM Watson AI XPRIZE and the ANA Avatar XPRIZE.

Prior to joining XPRIZE, Mr. Banifatemi began his career at the European Space Agency and then held executive positions at Airbus, AP-HP and the European Commission division for information society and media. He managed two venture capital funds and contributed to the formation of more than 10 startups with emphasis on Information Technologies, Telecommunications, IoT, and Healthcare. Mr. Banifatemi is a guest lecturer and an adjunct MBA professor at UC Berkeley, Chapman University, Claremont McKenna College, UC Irvine, and HEC Paris.

Prior to that, he worked at the Country Office in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique. André works on forest, landscape, biodiversity and and climate change issues. André holds a Master's degree from the University of Maryland in environmental policy and economics. Andre Uhl is a PhD candidate at Harvard University and co-founder of the Council on Extended Intelligence, a trisector working group hosted at the IEEE Standards Association and MIT to promote principles of participatory design, citizen-centric data agency and metrics of wellbeing for the development of autonomous and intelligent systems. His dissertation - Extended Intelligence: Awareness-Based Interventions into the Ecology of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems - explores the ethics and governance of Artificial Intelligence through the lens of cross-cultural complexity and the posthuman predicament of climate change.

Andre received an MA from Tokyo University of the Arts, Japan, and a BA from FU Berlin, Germany. He is alumnus of the ‘Studienstiftung’ German National Academic Foundation and the ‘MEXT’ fellowship program of the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

He has been involved in international events such as UN-related events, DPI/NGO (UN Department of Global Communications), Youth Peace and Security, Migration and Vulnerable Population, and WHO events. Additionally, he is the country director of Global Peace Chain.

In 2018, he was nominated as UN Global Goodwill Ambassador and he was granted a scholarship to participate in an innovation fellowship in Mashav, Israel, in 2018.

Professor BAI Chong-En is Mansfield Freeman Chair Professor and Dean of the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University. He is also the director of the National Institute for Fiscal Studies of Tsinghua University. He earned his Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics and Economics from UCSD and Harvard University, respectively. His research interests include Institutional Economics, Economic Growth and Development, Public Economics, Finance, Corporate Governance and Chinese Economy.

Ben Koo

Prof. Koo is one of the founders of iCenter@Tsinghua, a school-in-school experiment at Tsinghua University, Beijing, where he serves as the Director of International Relations of iCenter. He works on the design and deployment strategies of digital learning infrastructures for individuals and institutions. He created a collective-learning methodology: Extreme Learning Process (XLP), which is being practiced at many levels of educational institutions in China. Based on XLP, Prof. Koo co-created an associate degree program at Tsinghua: “Minor in Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, that covers all disciplinary domains at this general-purpose university, and aims at using the experience as a basis to inform and reform higher education practices in China. Dr. Loghin is an expert echocardiographer and contributes in both UT’s outpatient and the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute echocardiography laboratories. He has a strong interest in cardiac imaging and experience in cardiac positron emission tomography and diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Dr. Loghin’s research focuses on cardiac resynchronization therapy in patients with advanced heart failure as guided by advanced echocardiography methods, fundamental technical aspects of positron emission tomography imaging, mitral valve pathophysiology and percutaneous mitral regurgitation repair guided by transesophageal echocardiography, non-invasive imaging of vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque by magnetic resonance imaging.

Djauhari Oratmangun

Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun is currently the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the People's Republic of China and accredited to Mongolia. Before assuming his current position, he was the Senior Advisor on Strategic Issues to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

Previously he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Russian Federation and accredited to the Republic of Belarus (2012- 2016). He had served as the Deputy Minister for ASEAN Cooperation/SOM Leader ASEAN-Indonesia(2009-2011), as well as the Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Indonesia (Ad Interim) to ASEAN (2009-2010), and the Deputy Chief of Mission and Charge d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in the Hague (2004-2009).

He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 1984 and was posted at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia in New York (1986-1990 and 1997-2001) and at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia in Geneva (1993-1997). Edward F. Crawley is the Ford Professor of Engineering, and a Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT, and is an Honorary Professor at Tsinghua University. He has served as the founding President of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) in Moscow, the founding Director of the MIT Gordon Engineering Leadership Program, the co-founder of the international CDIO initiative, the Director of the Cambridge (UK) - MIT Institute and the Head of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT.

Crawley’s research has focused on the architecture, design, and decision support and optimization in complex technical systems subject to economic and stakeholder constraints. His work in innovation includes helping to found six technology-based startups.

Professor Crawley is engaged in leading change in higher education, and is author of a recent book Universities as Engines of Economic Development (2020) which lays out how universities can contribute to the post-Covid recovery.

In 2015, he was awarded the “Planning Champion” award by the Planning Institute of Australia and in 2016 was awarded the Richard J Evans Award for excellence in recognition of outstanding contributions to planning in Victoria.

John Thwaites was Deputy Premier of Victoria from 1999 until his retirement in 2007. During this period he held various Ministerial portfolios including Health, Planning, Environment, Water and was Victoria’s first Minister for Climate Change. In these portfolios he was responsible for major reforms in social policy, health, environment and water.

Li received his Ph.D. from the Department of Thermal Engineering at Tsinghua University in 1994. Before returning to Tsinghua University, he worked as an engineer for three years in the Harbin Turbine Works. From June 2011-2017, he was the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). He was also on the External Advisory Board for the ASEAN 2030 Study being undertaken by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

He entered the Government Service as an education officer in 1977 and served as principal of a Secondary School from 1981 – 1985. From February 2001 – July 2005, he was appointed as Director-General, International Relations and Trade Development, Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources. In September 2005, he was appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Dinata was born Nurkurniati Aisyah Dewi in Jakarta on 4 March 1970. As a child, Dinata watched movies weekly. After finishing high school, she received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, where she became interested in cinematography. She then took a filmmaking course at New York University. After returning to Indonesia, she took her first job as an apprentice reporter for Seputar Indonesia. She later began directing video clips and commercials with Iguana Productions in the mid-1990s, studying the techniques on her own.

Dinata made her directorial debut with the 1998 made-for-television film Mencari Pelangi (Looking for the Rainbow), which won two national awards. She then started her own production company, Kalyana Shira Film, around 1999. Her first feature film, Ca-bau-kan, was produced by Kalyana Shira and dealt with the trials and tribulations of Chinese Indonesians in pre-independence Indonesia. After being trimmed from its original running time of 160 minutes to 124 minutes for commercial viability, the film—adapted from the novel by Remy Sylado—was critically panned; Dinata herself was satisfied, saying it was "as good as it could be for that short running time". She produced Sekar Ayu Asmara's debut, Biola Tak Berdawai, the following year.

The next film she directed, 2003's Arisan! (The Gathering), had gay themes and was produced on a small budget. It is considered one of her more commercially successful films, being seen by over 500,000 people, and the first Indonesian film dealing with homosexuality. Its success surprised her, as most of the commercially successful films at the time were horrors and children's films.

After the success of Arisan!, Dinata was able to find more sponsors for her movies. In 2004, she was invited to join the Cannes Young Directors Program, and the following year she produced Joko Anwar's directorial debut Janji Joni (Joni's Promise). Another film she directed, 2006's Berbagi Suami (Love for Share), about polygamy in Indonesia, was based on her personal experiences when her father took a second wife.

In 2007, Dinata produced Quickie Express, described in the press as a sex comedy but by Dinata herself as a "love story with social content". This was followed by the short-film collection Perempuan Punya Cerita (Chants of Lotus), which featured one directed by her, Gara-Gara Bola (Soccer Riot), which she produced, and the documentary Pertaruhan (At Stake).

In 2009, Dinata and the Kalyana Shira Foundation she runs started the Indonesian International Children's Film Festival. The festival showcases both local and international children's films and involves children in all aspects of the festival. As of 2011, it has been run three times.

As of April 2011, Dinata is producing a sequel to Arisan!. Filming was expected to begin in May, with the release scheduled for 1 December 2011, eight years after the first instalment. In 2011 Dinata also collaborated with Ucu Agustin on Batik: Our Love Story, a documentary on the traditional textile batik. Dinata directed, while Ucu served as screenwriter.

Noviar Andayani completed her PhD in Conservation Biology at University of Indonesia, where she also served as a lecturer for the past twenty years. She was the head of graduate program in conservation biology at the same university when she joined WCS Indonesia Program. While she continues her teaching roles, she also leads WCS Indonesia Program as the country director. Outside these two institutions, she is also chairing the Indonesian Primatological Association and was one of the key contributor to the national strategy for orangutan conservation.

Nur Efendi is a final year undergraduate Law student at Hasanuddin University and currently holds the Most Outstanding Student Regional LLDIKTI Celebes Area 2020 representing Hasanuddin University.

With WeHelp app team, he is the Co-Winner of I4AIC 2020, a country-level competition held by Tanoto Foundation in partnership with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also acted as SDGs Youth Campaigner from Fellowship Program of Youth Action Forum 2018 held by SDSNYouth SEA and United In Diversity Foundation and was a representative of Indonesia in Asia Students Leadership Conference held by SmileAsia Ltd. in Singapore.With his team, he has been building an application called WeHelp to provide women and children victimized by domestic violence with Psychology and Legal Consultancy on the mobile app, with an aim to reduce cases of violence against them in Indonesia, and especially in Makassar.

He is former Regent of South Tapanuli, North Sumatra (2005-2010). Prior to that, he spent 22 years working in various multinational companies in Europe, Africa, and Indonesia, including Schlumberger International, Azil-Otis Engineering (subsidiary company of Halliburton), and PT Indokomas Buana Perkasa (Alstom Contracting Indonesia) with last position as President Director & CEO. From 2010 he works in mining group of GT with current position as Director & COO of gold mining companies of the group, as well as Director of Procurement for the whole group’s mining companies. He is passionate on energy conservation, environment sustainability, and community development, especially on micro economic development, and cross-culture fertilization for better community living.

Otto Scharmer

Otto Scharmer is a Senior Lecturer in the MIT Management Sloan School and co-founder of the Presencing Institute. He chairs the MIT IDEAS program for cross-sector innovation and introduced the concept of “presencing”—learning from the emerging future—in his bestselling books Theory U and Presence (the latter co-authored with P. Paul Horrocks

Paul Horrocks is leading the Private Finance work in the OECD Development Co-operation Directorate. In this respect he is developing a number of initiatives to get more private finance into energy projects, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. An example of this high level policy work is the Sustainable Development Investment Partnership (SDIP) which has the aim of mobilising USD 100 billion in financing over 5 years to infrastructure projects in developing countries. The partnership targets potential private investments by improving and enhancing instruments to reduce potential risks in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Prior to this, Paul was a Senior Executive in the Australian Federal Treasury, leading policy work on infrastructure during Australia’s G20 presidency.

Paul also has over a decade in senior positions at the European Institutions, particular on Infrastructure policy and project finance, including the EUs project bond initiative. Paul has degrees from the University of Wales, and Masters from the University of Liverpool as well as an Executive MBA from Vlerick Business School in Belgium.

Robert Lodato was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. He received his M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University. There he also received a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering. After his internship and residency in internal medicine at Indiana University, he returned to Johns Hopkins for his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. In 1985 he joined the faculty of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. There he served for several years as Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. He has been triple board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He cares for patients with a full spectrum of disorders in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

For several years, Best Doctors in America has included him in the list of the country’s most outstanding physicians. His teaching ability has been recognized both locally and abroad. He has received the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award at the University of Texas and has been invited to give lectures and to do bedside teaching rounds at a number of institutions throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He has served as a Special Medical Consultant for the Sultanate of Oman, in Muscat.

His primary research interests are sepsis and acute respiratory failure. His lab was the first to show that nitric oxide is a major mediator of the vasorelaxation and hypotension of septic shock. This finding led to a patent for him and his colleagues. His published work on the “waterfall model” of the lung has provided novel insight into the pathophysiology of severe obstructive lung disease. Dr. Lodato’s research has also extended to collaborations with NASA on the effects of space flight on the circulation and included the studies of Astronaut and U.S. Senator John Glenn for his “Return to Space” Mission in 1998. He has published numerous papers, editorials, and book chapters in pulmonary and critical care medicine, particularly in the areas of sepsis and respiratory and circulatory failure. In addition, he has served 5 years as a member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

Satu Kahkonen is the World Bank Country Director for Indonesia and Timor-Leste, joining the position in February 2020 and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ms. Kahkonen oversees the Bank’s program in the two countries and leads policy dialogue with government counterparts, civil society and other partners.

Prior to this position, she was the World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine. She had also served as Director of the Macroeconomics and Fiscal Management Global Practice at the World Bank Group, where she oversaw the work of the Practice in Europe and Central Asia, East Asia and Pacific, as well as South Asia. She was a Sector Manager in the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management unit. The cluster focused on economic policy management and covered 18 countries of the East and South East Europe—new EU Member States and Western Balkans—as well as select Eurozone countries.

Preceding that, she worked as a Lead Economist in South Asia, East and South East Europe, and Africa in the World Bank. In that role, she led a team which provided economic policy advice and technical expertise to multiple countries including Pakistan, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Uganda.

Before joining the World Bank, Ms. Kahkonen was part of the faculty of the University of Maryland and Associate Director of the Center for Institutional Reform and the Informal Sector (IRIS), a think tank affiliated with the Department of Economics and headed by the late Professor Mancur Olson.

Ms. Kahkonen is the author of three books on economic development, and has published numerous economic reports and research papers. Ms. Kahkonen holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied as a Fulbright Scholar, and an M.Sc. from the Helsinki School of Economics.

Serey Chea is an Assistant Governor at National Bank of Cambodia. She is a vocal proponent for greater use of the local currency to promote the country's greater independence on economic and monetary policy. Under her guidance, innovative policy instruments were introduced to develop the interbank markets and promote the use of local currency. Serey is a member of different policy-driven committees within the bank and nationally. She is chairwoman of the Credit Bureau Cambodia Ltd., the first and only privately-run credit sharing system in Cambodia. Under her leadership, retail payment infrastructure has been modernized with the introduction of a national shared switch for cards transactions and FAST payment system, a real time fund transfer from a bank account to another bank account in Cambodia. As a chairwoman of Clearing House Operation Committee, she has been leading the Bakong Project, an initiative of the National Bank of Cambodia in exploring and introducing a new generation of payment system using Blockchain technology. She is also a member of the Southeast Asia Advisory Council of Women World Banking and a member of Young Global Leaders, Class of 2019, a forum of Young Global Leaders created by the World Economic Forum. She is a strong advocate for women economic empowerment and financial inclusion and served as Alliance for Financial Inclusion’s (AFI’s) high level Gender and Women’s Financial Inclusion Committee (GWFIC). Education and early career
Sim Ann was educated at Hwa Chong Junior College from 1992 to 1993. In 1997, she obtained a B.A (Honours) from Oxford University. She was awarded an M.A from Stanford University in 2009. Sim Ann has also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Translation and Interpretation from the Nanyang Technological University. Sim Ann started her career in 1998 as an Assistant Director for Finance Policy and Planning at the Ministry of Health. From 2000 to 2003, she worked at the Ministry of Home Affairs as an Assistant Director for Implementation Planning, before moving to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where she was Deputy Director for Trade until 2006. Between 2007 and 2009, she was the Regional Director (East China) for IE Singapore and in 2009, she became the Director for the National Population Secretariat. She left the Civil Service in 2011.

Political career
Sim Ann first stepped into the political arena when she contested in the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC during the 2011 General Elections. She is currently the MP for the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC as one of the four-member People's Action Party (PAP) team led by Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. Datuk Tan Kim Leong was appointed to the Board on 1 June 2013 as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director. Datuk Tan was subsequently designated to Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Company on 1 July 2019. Following his re-designation, Datuk Tan concurrently relinquished his position as the Chairman of the Audit Committee, and he remains as the Audit Committee member.
